molecular components (antigens) to T cells and helper T cells in lymphatic tissue. The binding of T cell receptors to antigens induces T cell proliferation and antibody production by B cells. Small signaling proteins known as cytokines guide T cells to pathogens, where they activate macrophages and destroy compromised cells.
